MSJC Bats Come Alive in Softball Victory

The MSJC softball team improved to 3-1 in Foothill Conference action on Friday as they traveled to San Bernardino Valley and came away with a 19-6 victory.tarynplacencia.jpg

The Lady Eagles jumped on SBVC from the start scoring 14 runs in the first inning.  MSJC had 12 of their 19 hits on the day in the opening inning.  They would go on to add a single run in the third, three in the fourth, and a run in the fifth for the victory.

Seven different Lady Eagles had at least two hits and Mariah Borjon, Asia Thomas, and Vanessa Felipe collected three a piece on the afternoon.  Felipe and Erica Marquess drove in four runs a piece with Marquess hitting her first home run of the season.  Taryn Placencia and Kristy O'Connor both had 3 RBIs on the day.

Aleena Bahling picked up the pitching victory going 3 and 2/3 innings allowing just one unearned run.  Thomas pitched the final inning and 1/3.  The Lady Eagles are now 8-14 overall and will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Rancho Cucamonga to take on Chaffey College at 3 pm.

 

Taryn Placencia had two hits and three RBIs friday as MSJC defeated San Bernardino Valley 19-6.
