MSJC Softball Wins Second Straight
The Lady Eagles softball team erupted for 15 hits on Monday as they defeated visiting Barstow College 9-1 in a Foothill Conference game at Menifee.
Aleena Bahling led the high powered offensive attack going 2 for 4 and driving in a game high 4 runs. Tiffanye Camden also added two hits and drove in two runs. MSJC jumped out of the gates early scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. They added four more in the fourth inning and then finished the game by scoring 3 in the bottom of the sixth to end the game by the mercy rule.
Bahling was also the pitching star on the day throwing a complete game and allowing just one unearned run. Over six innings she struck out 8 and allowed just two hits. The win moved MSJC to 5-6 in Foothill Conference action with three league games remaining. The Lady Eagles final home game of the season is today when they host Victor Valley College at 3 pm. Friday they travel to Palm Desert to take on College of the Desert that game is also scheduled to begin at 3.
Antoniette Mata had a hit and a run scored Monday as the Lady Eagles pounded out 15 hits in all as they defeated Barstow College 9-1. MSJC will play their final home game of the season today (Apr. 6) against Victor Valley in Menifee at 3 pm.
