Softball Opens Season with Pair of Games

The MSJC softball team opened the 2011 season on Friday as they took on Southwestern College as well as Golden West in a doubleheader.
In the opening game the Lady Eagles tied the host Jaguars of Southwestern 2-2, through a 7 inning game, extra innings were not played due to a time limit. Aleena Bahling pitched all seven innings for MSJC allowing just 7 hits and striking out two. Both Jaguar runs were unearned. Chelsea Evans led the Lady Eagle offense going 2 for 3 with a stolen base.
In the second game of the day MSJC fell to perennial softball power Golden West 13-0 in 5 innings. MSJC had trouble on defense committing 8 errors in the game. Bahling took the loss in the circle throwing 4 all four innings allowing 6 hits and just 2 earned runs.
MSJC is back in action on Thursday February 3rd when they host East Los Angeles College at Wheat Field in Menifee. That game is set to start at 2:30 pm.
