Softball Team Falls to AVC in 12 Innings
The MSJC softball team lost their play-off seeding game on Monday 5-3 to co-conference champion Antelope Valley in an exciting 12 inning game. Both teams will advance to the Southern California Regionals which begin May 2nd.
Monday's game was a great pitching match up as both starting pitchers went the distance for their teams. Lynsie Caldwell threw 12 innings for MSJC. The Lady Eagles had a 3-1 lead but couldn't hold on forcing the game into extra innings. In the top of the ninth left fielder Anissa Anglin made a game saving catch, but MSJC couldn't capitalize in the bottom of the inning. AVC eventually scored two runs in the top of the 12th for the victory.
MSJC will finish up the regular season with a doubleheader on Wednesday against College of the Canyons. The Lady Eagles are currently 18-18 on the season.
