Softball Team Falls to Defending Champs

The MSJC softball team kept it close for 5 innings against defending Foothill Confaleenavsavc2011.jpgerence champion Antelope Valley on Wednesday, but a late push by the Marauders gave AVC the 10-0 win.

Through four innings the Lady Eagles trailed just 1-0, but AVC added 2 runs in the top of the fifth and them 4 in the sixth and 3 in the seventh for the victory.  MSJC only managed one hit in the game and it came in the bottom half of the seventh inning.  Aleena Bahling pitched the first six innings for the Lady Eagles and picked up the only MSJC hit on the day.  Sami McNeely pitched the seventh for MSJC.

Antelope Valley remained unbeaten in the conference at 10-0 while the Lady Eagles fell to 3-6 in league action.  MSJC is back in actin on Friday when they travel to San Bernardino for a 3 pm game.  Saturday the Lady Eagles travel to Imperial Valley for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
