Softball Team Opens Conference Wtih Win

The MSJC softball team opened Foothill Conference play Wednesday with an 8-0 victory at San Bernardino Valley.

Lynsie Caldwell was both the pitching and hitting star on the day. Caldwell pitched a complete game shut out allowing just 5 singles in the game while walking none and striking out two. Offensively she was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI on the day. Angel Felipe also went 3 for 4 for the Lady Eagles driving in two runs. Anissa Anglin hitting in the lead off spot also sparked the 11 hit MSJC attack with 2 hits of her own and a walk.

The victory improved the Lady Eagles record to 5-8 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The pitching win for Caldwell moved her season record to 2-2. MSJC is right back in action today as they travel to Mt. Sac for a non conference doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to begin at 4 pm.
