Softball Team Wins Final Game of the Season

The MSJC softball team scored in every inning but one on Tuesday as they picked up a 10-7 victory over Imperial Valley in their final game of the 2014 season.rayna2014.jpeg

The Lady Eagles fell behind 6-2 after two innings before scoring eight straight runs on their way to the victory.  MSJC scored single runs in the top of the third and fourth to close the gap to 6-4, and then tied the game in the top of the fifth when they scored two times.  The Lady Eagles eventually took the lead with two in the top of the sixth and added two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh for their fourth Pacific Coast Conference win of the season.

Isabel Castellanos and Rayna Winters each had a homerun and 3 RBIs in the win.  Winters finished her strong day going 3 for 4 while Castellanos was 1 for 4 with a sacrifice fly.  Brenna Drake picked up two RBIs in the game and Gabby Sanchez added one.

Lauren Partnoff threw the final five innings of the game to pick up the pitching victory.  She allowed just one run on three hits through her five innings of work.

With the win the Lady Eagles finish their season with an overall record of 15-23 and a PCAC mark of 4-14.  IVC wrapped up their season 6-25 and 2-15.

 

Rayna Winters went 3 for 4 with a homerun and 3 RBIs on Tuesday as she helped the MSJC softball team win their final game of the season 10-7 against Imperial Valley.
