Softball Team Wins One, Loses Two at Tourney
The MSJC softball team defeated LA Mission, but lost to San Diego City and Grossmont over the weekend as they took part in the San Diego City Tournament.
Friday the Lady Eagles out hit San Diego City 8 to 7, but a late rally came up short as they lost to the Knights 8-6. Seven different MSJC players had at least one hit and Spenser King had two to go along with an RBI. Heather Hermida collected two RBIs on a double in the game. The Lady Eagles fell behind 8-0 after five innings, but rallied for a 6 run sixth before coming up just short.
Saturday MSJC bounced back to defeat LA Mission 12-4 before losing to Grossmont 16-0 in the final game of the tournament for the Lady Eagles.
MSJC is at home twice this week as they return to Foothill Conference action. The Lady Eagles will host Rio Hondo on Wednesday and Barstow on Friday both at Wheat Field in Menifee. Both games are set to begin at 3 pm.
Spenser King went 2 for 3 against San Diego City on Friday, but the Lady Eagles came up just short in an 8-6 loss to the Knights.
