Three MSJC softball players were named as part of the 2014 All Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Team led by 2nd Team selection Rayna Winters.
Winters played primarily shortstop and second base this season for the Lady Eagles and also pitched in 12 games. She finished the season hitting .317 with 5 homeruns and 23 RBIs. Winters also stole 9 bases on the season.
Third baseman Roni Alonzo and pitcher Lauren Partnoff were both named Honorable Mention All PCAC. Alonzo tied with Winters for a team high 5 homeruns on the season while hitting .297 and driving in 22 runs. Alonzo was the only sophomore on this year's squad. Partnoff led the Lady Eagles in pitching victories with 10 while pitching a team high 151 innings. Partnoff struck out 47 batters this season.
Kali Pugh and Dani Cowan of league champion Palomar were named the Player and Pitcher of the Year respectively. MSJC finished their first season as a member of the PCAC with a record of 15-23 overall and a conference mark of 4-14.
Construction is underway on a new home softball field for the Lady Eagles, who have been playing their home games at Wheatfield Park in Menifee. MSJC expects to be able to start practicing on the field this summer and will play all home games on the Menifee Campus next year.
MSJC's Rayna Winters was named Second Team All PCAC when the team was announced this week. Winters hit .317 with 5 homeruns and 23 RBIs this year for the Lady Eagles. Roni Alonzo and Lauren Partnoff were named Honorable Mention.
