MSJC Loses in 4 at Victor Valley

The MSJC volleyball team opened Wednesday's match with Victor Valley by winning the first set in Victorville 25-23, but the Rams responded winning the next three to take the match.natforvvcgame.jpg

The Lady Eagles also held the lead in the second set 13-10, before an injury to Priscilla Frias caused a shift in the line up for MSJC.  Frias had already collected 3 kills, 3 blocks, and 6 digs at the time she was forced out of the game with an ankle sprain.  Victor Valley then rallied to take set two 25-21 and went on to win the third 25-20, and the fourth 25-18.

Setter Afton McClelland had a career high 43 assists in the match to go along with 11 digs.  Leslie Jenkins and Natalie Gonzales had big hitting nights recording 17 and 15 kills respectively, Gonzales also had 11 digs.  Middle blocker Allie Tucker added 5 kills and 4 blocks for MSJC.

The loss dropped MSJC to 5-5 overall on the season and 0-2 in the Foothill Conference.  The Lady Eagles return home on Friday October 7th when they host Antelope Valley at 5:30 pm.

 

 

 

Natalie Gonzales had 15 kills and 11 digs for MSJC Wednesday night at Victor Valley, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Eagles lost in four sets.
