Volleyball Team Drops Match at Chaffey

The MSJC volleyball team led in the first two sets, but couldn't hold onto the lead as they fell in straight sets to host Chaffey College Wednesday in Rancho Cucamonga.lynaechaffey.jpg

The Lady Eagles started the first set strong jumping out to an 11-5 lead before the Panthers fought back to take control and win 25-18.  In the second set again MSJC jumped out to a lead but couldn't hold it as they fell 25-17.  Chaffey took the third and final set by a score of 25-15.

Lynae Whitehead had a strong day for the Lady Eagles recording 9 kills and 4 aces.  Kimmie Hassett led the MSJC defense with 18 digs while Shellie Herrera came up with 5 blocks.  The loss drops MSJC to 2-12 overall and 0-4 in Foothill Conference play while Chaffey improved to 3-1 in the conference and 11-6 overall.

The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Victor Valley for a 5:30 match.  MSJC returns home on Wednesday October 17th when they host Rio Hondo College.

 

 

Lynae Whitehead had 9 kills and 4 aces on Wednesday, but the MSJC volleyball team lost in Rancho Cucamonga to Chaffey College.  The Lady Eagles return to action Friday when they travel to Victor Valley.
