Volleyball Team Falls in 4 Sets at Hancock

The MSJC volleyball team opened the season Wednesday night with a loss at Alan Hancock College. Hancock won the first set 25-22, but MSJC answered back winning the second by the same score. MSJC couldn't keep the momentum however, as Hancock won the third and fourth sets 25-20 and 25-15 to take the match 3-1.
Sophomore Leslie Jenkins led the way for the Lady Eagles with 12 kills, 5 digs and 3 blocks. Returning second team all conference outside hitter Priscilla Frias added 7 kills, 16 digs, and 3 aces. Setter Afton McClelland had 18 assists for MSJC.
The Lady Eagles who are now 0-1 on the season will be back in action Friday September 2nd when they travel to Chula Vista to take on Southwestern College. Game time is set for 5 pm on Friday.
