Volleyball Team Falls in Opener to Southwestern
The MSJC women's volleyball team opened the season on Wednesday night with a loss to visiting Southwestern College.
The Lady Eagles got off to a slow start falling behind 15-4 in the first set, before rallying to close the score to 21-15. Southwestern answered the charge though to take the first set 25-15. The Jaguars won the second set by the same score 25-15 and then held off the Lady Eagles in the third set 25-18 for the 3-0 match victory.
Julianne Tuiolosega led the MSJC attack with 8 kills in the match and she also collected 11 digs. Defensive specialist Lilly Fracisco had a team high 14 digs for the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles who are now 0-1 on the season return to action next Wednesday September 5th when they host Cerritos College. The match on the 5th begins at 5 pm.
