Former Lady Eagle Making Her Mark
Britney Iredale (JR / Riverside, Calif.) has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's (NSIC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week. This honor is the fourteenth NSIC Player of the Week award earned by an Upper Iowa student-athlete this year and first by a Peacock women's basketball player for the 2007-08 season.
Britney Iredale scored a game high 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Wisconsin Parkside. Iredale also handed out four assists while shooting 50% from the field (10-20) in her 38 minutes of play. Through the first half of the season the Riverside, California native is averaging just under 8 points and 4 rebounds per game.
Iredale and the Peacocks will return to Dorman Gymnasium for their Northern Sun Conference home openers on Friday and Saturday, January 4 and 5. The Peacocks will host the Wildcats of Wayne State College on Friday and the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday on Saturday. Both games will tip off at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.
Last season Britney helped guide the Lady Eagles to the Foothill Conference Championship and was named First Team All State in California.
