Lady Eagles Can't Get Past Chaffey

The MSJC women's basketball team struggled to score points on Wednesday leading to a 61-49 loss at Chaffey.

The loss dropped MSJC to 20-10 on the season and 12-3 in Foothill Conference action. The Lady Eagles can still claim second place by themselves with a victory Saturday against Rio Hondo in the regular season's final game. MSJC will host the Roadrunners at 1 pm.

Wednesday night it was Chaffey who got off to a fast start building a 25-17 halftime lead as both teams failed to convert some offensive opportunities. In the second half Michelle Simmons came to life for the Lady Eagles scoring 15 of her game high 18 points in the second stanza. But, the Lady Eagles rally fell short as they could never recapture the lead. Jasmine Nyx also reached double figures for MSJC with 10 points.
