Lady Eagles Comeback Falls Short
The MSJC women's basketball team fell short in a comeback effort Saturday afternoon falling to Chaffey College 76-67 in a Foothill Conference game.
The Lady Eagles trailed by 4 at the half, before falling behind by 20 mid way through the second half. MSJC went on a 16-0 run to cut the lead to 4 with just over 2 minutes to play. The Lady Eagles comeback effort was halted by a Chaffey 3 point basket with 46 seconds remaining that sealed the win for the Panthers.
Tina Fantroy led the MSJC offense with 28 points while Ashley Jenkins added 9 points and 8 rebounds. Faith Fantroy finished the day with 8 points and 8 assists while Aishah Pullum came off the bench to record a game high 12 rebounds.
The loss drops MSJC's overall record to 16-4, while Chaffey improved to 16-3. The Lady Eagles are back in action at home on Wednesday night when the host Victory Valley at 5 pm.
