Lady Eagles Defeat San Diego City 68-46
The MSJC women's basketball team rode a strong second half to a 68-46 victory over visiting San Diego City College on Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a 8-0 lead and never trailed in the game. Freshman Rayven Lewis scored all 11 of her points in the first half to lead MSJC to a 28-22 lead at halftime. The Lady Eagles pulled away in the second half building their lead to as much as 24 with just under 10 minutes to play.
Danielle Smith led MSJC on the night with 24 points and 5 steals. Jasmyn Russell also contributed with 6 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. The victory improved the Lady Eagles to 9-2 on the season. MSJC is back in action Thursday December 18th through Saturday December 20th when they travel to Lancaster to take part in the Antelope Valley Holiday Tournament. The Lady Eagles open with Los Angeles Valley College on Thursday at 1:30 pm.
