Lady Eagles Down RCC 73-64

The MSJC women's basketball team moved their record to 3-0 Tuesday nigRayven Lewisht with a 73-64 victory over visiting Riverside Community College.

The Lady Eagles got off to a slow start, but were able to rebound and take a 29-26 lead at halftime. Early in the second half MSJC was able to build their lead to as much as 14 before the Tigers roared back. RCC came all the way back to take the lead with just over 4 minutes to play. Some solid defense and timely three point shooting put the Lady Eagles back ahead for good with 3:12 to go in the game.

Danielle Smith led the offensive attack for MSJC with 27 points, Rayven Lewis added 15 all in the second half to help lead the Lady Eagles to victory. Jasmyn Russell finished the night with 12 points and 8 assists. MSJC, who is currently ranked #8 in Southern California and #13 in the state returns to action Friday when they travel to Santa Ana for a 5 pm game.
