Lady Eagles Fall at San Bernardino
In a showdown for first place Saturday San Bernardino was able to outlast the Lady Eagles coming away with the 63-48 victory.
The loss dropped MSJC a game behind the Wolverines with four games left in the regular season. MSJC had a hard time finding it's offense early in the game and trailed at the half 32-21. The Lady Eagles made a couple runs at SBVC in the second half, twice cutting the lead to six, but couldn't get any closer. Michelle Simmons, who played just 5 minutes in the first half due to foul trouble, and Thalia Benjamin led the way for MSJC with 12 points each.
The loss drops the Lady Eagles to 18-9 on the season 10-2 in conference play, while San Bernardino improved to 21-5 and 10-1. MSJC is right back in action tonight (Monday Feb. 11th) when they host College of the Desert at 5 pm. The Lady Eagles are also home Saturday when they host Antelope Valley at 1 pm.
