The MSJC women's basketball team brought home a hard fought victory Wednesday night when they traveled to Victor Valley as they came away with a 64-54 win.
The Lady Eagles had their hands full in the first half as the Rams hit their first three, three point shots as they jumped out to a 9-3 lead. MSJC quickly tied the game back up and the first half was deadlocked until a late 3 point basket by Faith Fantroy gave the Lady Eagles the halftime lead at 36-33.
In the second half it was much of the same for the first 12 minutes as the Rams stayed within 2 to 4 points, before the Lady Eagles finally separated themselves with a 7-0 run to push the lead to 57-46 with 6:50 to play. From there the teams traded baskets the rest of the way.
Tina Fantroy had a game high 26 points for MSJC to go along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Kerah Natividad had a double double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Faith Fantroy ended the night with 6 points and 9 assists.
With the victory MSJC is now 19-2 on the season and 6-1 in Foothill Conference play. The Lady Eagles return to action on Wednesday February 6th when they host College of the Desert at 5 pm.
