Lady Eagles Roll Past Imperial in PCAC Opener
The MSJC women's basketball team opened up a huge halftime lead and pulled away even more in the second as they defeated Imperial Valley 91-41 in Imperial.
The Lady Eagles broke the game open midway through the first half as they went on a 22-2 run over a five minute stretch and went into the locker room with a 53-18 halftime lead. It was more of the same in the second half as the Lady Eagles were able to get 10 of it's 11 players who played in the game into the scoring column.
Cora Lopez led the way for MSJC with 25 points on 12 of 15 shooting from the field and also grabbed a game high 15 rebounds. Tamara Herring scored 13 points for the Lady Eagles all in the first half and Bree Madory had her first double double of the year as she scored 10 points and hauled in 10 boards.
The Lady Eagles are now 12-4 on the season and 1-0 in PCAC play. MSJC will be at home on Friday when they host Palomar College at 5 pm.
