Lady Eagles Run Past Desert 83-35
The MSJC women's basketball team got off to a fast start on Saturday and were able to build a 29 point halftime lead as they cruised past visiting College of the Desert 83-35.
Four Lady Eagles reached double figures and 12 different players scored for MSJC as
they jumped out to a 44-15 halftime advantage. Danielle Cooper led the way for the Lady Eagles with 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Ashley Jenkins added 15 points. Daniela Murrieta hit four 3 point baskets on the afternoon to end the game with 12 points and point guard Danielle Reed finished the afternoon with 11 points and a game high 9 assists.
With the victory MSJC now stands at 12-6 on the season and 2-1 in Foothill Conference play. The Lady Eagles have two road games this week at Barstow on Wednesday and at Rio Hondo on Saturday, before returning home January 19th to host Chaffey. Wednesday's game at Barstow can be heard on the Eagle Radio Network at AM 1620 or across the internet at msjc.edu. Tip-off is set for 5:30 air time is 5:25.
