Lady Eagles Season Ends at Canyons
The MSJC women's basketball team's season came to an end Friday night when they lost in the second round of the Southern California Regional Tournament at College of the Canyons.
The Lady Eagles and the Cougars were locked in a great game for the first 36 minutes, before COC was able to pull away down the stretch for the 88-73 win. With the score 66-60 Cougars and four minutes to play MSJC missed a lay-up and Canyons followed with a shot clock beating three pointer that put the game out of reach for good.
Danielle Cooper had a big night for the Lady Eagles with 29 points and 15 rebounds while Danielle Reed added 14 points and 5 assists, despite playing just 20 minutes due to foul trouble. Terri Todecheene just missed double figures with 9 points.
The loss ended the Lady Eagles season at 21-9. COC improved to 23-7. This season marked the fifth straight 20 win season for MSJC and the fifth straight play-off appearance for the Lady Eagles.
