Lady Eagles Take Two of Three in Final Tune Up for Conference

The MSJC women's basketball team won two of three games this week at the Grossmont Holiday Tournament to push their record to 13-3 on the season.

The Lady Eagles missed a last second shot on Wednesday and lost 46-45 to Citrus College, before rebounding for a 70-42 win over Santa Barbara on Thursday and a 61-50 win over Santa Ana on Friday.

Tina Fantroy scored in double figures all three days including back to back 22 point performances on Thursday and Friday and was named to the All Tournament Team.  Ashley Jenkins recorded two double doubles in the tourney and just missed a third on Friday when she had 9 points and 11 rebounds.  Jenkins also had a tournament record 18 blocks in the three games.  Aishah Pullum also played well for MSJC through out the tournament recording a double double of her own on Friday with 12 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over Santa Ana.

The Lady Eagles kick off Foothill Conference action on Wednesday when they host San Bernardino Valley at 5 pm.  MSJC is currently ranked #8 in the state and SBVC is ranked #4.
