MSJC Downs 10th Ranked Chaffey
The MSJC women's basketball team started fast and finished strong defeating a very tough Chaffey College team Wednesday night 68-57 at home.
The Lady Eagles remained in a tie for first place in the Foothill Conference with San Bernardino Valley improving to 14-8 overall and 6-1 in conference action. Wednesday it was impressive bench play that made the difference for the Lady Eagles. Caysha Jackson came off the bench to lead MSJC's scoring attack with 13 points. Julia Oberst, Destini Rhodes, and Kelly Johnson also made contributions off the bench as the Lady Eagles bench scoring added up to 29 points. Starters Jennifer Marquez and Michelle Simmons also reached double figures with Marquez scoring 12 points and Simmons adding 10 points and 13 rebounds. The loss dropped Chaffey to 18-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
