MSJC Drops Tough One in Overtime
The MSJC women's basketball team rallied back from a big first half deficit, but fell short in overtime to Antelope Valley 71-65 Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Eagles who trailed at one point in the first half by 18 points rallied all the way back to force overtime on a three point basket by Rayven Lewis with :12 left to play. The comeback fell short however as MSJC was outscored 13-7 in the extra session.
Danielle Smith had a big day for the Lady Eagles pouring in 34 points and collecting 5 assists. Brandie McCann was MSJC's only other double figure scorer with 16. Nicole Villalobos had 8 points and 16 rebounds in the loss.
The loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 18-7 overall on the season and 5-3 in the Foothill Conference action. MSJC plays again on Wednesday night when they travel to Whittier to take on Rio Hondo at 5 pm. You can listen to all the action on the Eagle Radio Network at msjc.edu or AM 1620.
