MSJC Women's Basketball Wins on the Road

The MSJC women's basketball team picked up a road win on Friday as they traveled to San Diego where they defeated Mesa College 79-43.kokoforsdmesa-17.jpg

The Lady Eagles took control of the game early as they built a lead of 27-8 after the first quarter and went on to lead at the half by a score of 46-21.  MSJC was then able to put the contest out of reach in the third out scoring the Olympians 24-10 to begin the second half.

Five Lady Eagles reached double figures in scoring on the night led by 16 points from Nokomis Cabrera. Cabrera also pulled in 9 rebounds. Randi Johnson just missed a double double as well with 14 points and 9 boards.  Kristian Dewitt added 13 points for MSJC while Kaila Gower and Carla Johnson each scored 10 points in the victory.

The win improved the Lady Eagles to 16-2 on the season.  MSJC will be back in action this week when they host Grossmont College on Wednesday night at 5 pm.  The Lady Eagles will travel to Southwestern on Friday.
