MSJC Women Beat Victor Valley
The MSJC women's basketball team defeated visiting Victor Valley on Wednesday 54-40 in a Foothill Conference game.
The Lady Eagles started slow falling behind 8-0, before a 17 point run gave MSJC a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the game. MSJC led at the halftime break 28-22. Three Lady Eagles scored in double figures led by Ashley Jenkins who had 13 points as well as a game high 14 rebounds. Tina Fantroy added 11 points and 8 rebounds while Marina Villarreal came off the bench to score 10 points. Nicholle Reyna collected 13 rebounds in the victory for the Lady Eagles.
The win improved MSJC's overall record to 17-4 and pushed their Foothill Conference record to 4-2. Victor Valley fell to 8-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Lady Eagles travel to Rio Hondo on Saturday for a 1 pm game.
Ashley Jenkins had a double double Wednesday night with 13 points and 14 rebounds to help lead MSJC to a 54-40 win over Victor Valley.
