MSJC Women Fall on the Road

The MSJC women's basketball team lost with 0.5 seconds left Wednesday night when Antelope Valley made two free throws to come away with a 52-50 win.  With the score tied at 50 and 9 seconds remaining in the game, MSJC took the ball the length of the floor but missed a shot with two seconds to go and on the ensuing rebound a foul was called as the buzzer sounded.  The officials met and decided to put 0.5 back on the clock and sent the Marauders to the line.

The Lady Eagles had led throughout the entire game and held a double digit lead much of the second half before AVC came alive behind the three point line.  AVC made 6 of their final 9 three point shots after making just 1 of their first 16.

Danielle Cooper led the Lady Eagles with 24 points and 13 rebounds while Danielle Reed added 9 points and 8 assists.  Kaylee Moreno also added 9 for MSJC in the loss.

MSJC drops to 16-7 overall and 6-2 in Foothill Conference action with the loss while AVC improved to 16-7 and 6-1. The Lady Eagles will be back in action Saturday when they host the state's #1 ranked team San Bernardino Valley at 1 pm.  The game can also be heard on the Eagle Radio Network at msjc.edu or locally on AM 1620.
