The MSJC women's basketball team broke open a close game in the second half W
ednesday night to pick up a home victory over Barstow College 73-57.
The Lady Eagles started slowly falling behind 18-11 midway through the first half before they were able to surge into the halftime break with a 23-12 run to take a 34-30 advantage. In the second half MSJC slowly pulled away for the win. Tina Fantroy led MSJC's balanced scoring attack with 17 points, she also pulled in 11 rebounds. Ashley Jenkins added a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jasmine Jones scored 10 points for the Lady Eagles, and Aishah Pullum came off the bench to score 9 points and grab 7 rebounds.
The win improved the Lady Eagles record to 19-6 on the season and 6-4 in Foothill Conference play while Barstow dropped to 16-7 and 5-4. MSJC is back in action Saturday when they host Rio Hondo College at 1 pm.
