McCann Helps Lady Eagles to Key Victory
The MSJC women's basketball team ended a three game losing streak with an 80-70 victory Saturday over visiting Chaffey College.
The win improved the Lady Eagles record to 19-8 on the season and 6-4 in Foothill Conference action. Brandie McCann led the MSJC offense with 26 points and 6 assists while Danielle Smith, the team's top scorer, added 19 points and 7 assists. Nicole Villalobos recorded a double double with 12 points and 13 rebounds while Jasmyn Russell also hit double figures with 10 points.
MSJC built a 10 point first half lead, but gave it all back in the final two minutes of the first and went into the locker room tied at 36. The Lady Eagles regained their composure in the second half and were able to reestablish the lead most of the game. With the win MSJC is now in a three way tie for third place in the conference with four games to play.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Wednesday when they host Barstow College at 5 pm.
