Slow Start Dooms Lady Eagles at SBVC

The MSJC women's basketball team got off to a slow start and never recovered losing at San Bernardino Valley Wednesday night.

The Wolverines who are currently ranked #1 in the state shot 65% in the first half on their way to a 44-32 halftime lead.  The Lady Eagles, ranked 10th in the state in the latest coaches poll, were out rebounded on the night for just the second time all season.

Danielle Cooper led the Eagles with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Terri Todecheene added 14 points in the loss.  Kaylee Moreno just missed double figures with 9 points.

The loss drops MSJC to 11-6 on the season and 1-1 in Foothill Conference play while SBVC improved to 14-1 and 1-0.  The Lady Eagles are back in action Saturday when they host College of the Desert.  Tip-off Saturday is set for 1 pm with the men's game to follow at 3.
