Women's Basketball Players Sign Scholarships
Two MSJC women's basketball players have signed scholarships to continue their athletic and academic careers at the four year level. First Team All Conference performers Danielle Cooper and Danielle Reed both will move on next season.
Cooper who led the state in rebounding this past season averaging 13.4 a game signed with Cal State San Marcos. She was also the team's leading scorer averaging 16.6 points a game. Cooper, who helped lead the Lady Eagles to a fifth straight play-off appearance, was also named Third Team All State. Cooper is a graduate of West Valley High School in Hemet.
Point guard Danielle Reed, a Beaumont High grad, led the state in assists with 7.3 a game and has signed with Bacone University in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Reed a two year member of the Lady Eagles also averaged 9 points and 5.8 rebounds a game. The Lady Eagles finished this past season at 21-9.
