Women's Basketball Wins Big at SBVC
The MSJC women's basketball team opened up a 37-5 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 116-35 win over San Bernardino Valley in the PCAC North contest in San Bernardino.
The Lady Eagles built on their first quarter lead to take a 66-15 advantage into the halftime break. MSJC continued to extend the lead in the second half as they shot 49% on the evening and grabbed 28 offensive rebounds.
Six players reached double figures in scoring for MSJC and 11 players scored in the victory. Kristian Dewitt led the way with 22 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Randi Johnson recorded a double double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Kaila Gower came off the bench to add 17 points for the Lady Eagles. Crystal Malveaux had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists for MSJC and Delacy Brown had a solid night at the point guard position with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Marissa Williams also reached double digits in scoring with 10.
The win improved MSJC's overall record on the season to 24-4, they finished PCAC North Division play with a 6-2 mark which gives them second place. The Lady Eagles will wrap up the regular season on Friday when they host San Diego City College in a PCAC North-South crossover game. MSJC will celebrate Sophomore Night Friday as the recognize those Lady Eagles playing in their final regular season home game. Friday night's game is set to tip-off at 5 pm.
MSJC's #2 Jaquel Quest had 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots on Wednesday night to help the Lady Eagles basketball team to a 116-35 win over San Bernardino Valley.
