Golfers Shoot School Record 319, Improve to 8-1
The MSJC women's golf team set a school record on Monday as they shot a 319 at El Prado Golf Course-Butterfield Stage in Chino.
Amazingly however, the school record score was only good enough for second place in the third Foothill Conference match of the season as Palomar recorded a 313. The Lady Eagles did finish ahead of College of the Desert (368) and Mt. San Antonio (375) to record a 2-1 mark for the day. After three conference matches MSJC remains in first place at 8-1, while Palomar improved to 7-2.
Wan Ling (Iris) Chung led the way for the Lady Eagles shooting a 4 over par 76. Dayna Doidge improved her personal best as a member of the MSJC squad for the second straight match shooting a 77. Chung had the second and Doidge the fourth lowest scores of the day.
Alice Hiluta and Vivian Shoemaker both shot 83's on the day to round out the Lady Eagles team scoring. Cheyenne Ackerman also had a solid round with an 84 while Valerie Zulueta carded a 90 and Amanda Hodgin playing the match as an individual scored a 94.
The Lady Eagles return to El Prado Golf Course to play the Chino Creek Stage on Wednesday. The match on Wednesday will be a shotgun start teeing off at 9 am.
