Lady Eagles Golfers Earn Post Season Awards

The MSJC women's golf team completed another highly successful season with a Foothill Conference high five Lady Eagles earning conference honors.MSJCgolfTeamregional.jpg

Wan Ling (Iris) Chung was not only named first team all conference, but also first team All Southern California and second team All State for her accomplishments in her freshman season.  Chung helped lead the Lady Eagles to their third straight Southern California Regionals and finished 9th in the individual State Championships.  MSJC is one of just two teams in Southern California to reach the Regional Tournament as a team for three straight seasons.  2012 also marked the fourth straight year that MSJC had an individual player finish in the state's top 10.

Danya Doidge was also outstanding in her freshman season earning First Team All Conference honors and carrying the fourth best scoring average in the Foothill Conference at 79.9.  Doidge qualified for the Southern Cal Regionals and just missed the state finals being named the second alternate to the state competition.  Alice Hiluta another MSJC freshman was also named First Team All Conference and qualified for the Regional Championships.  Hiluta a native of England had an 82.3 scoring average in Foothill Conference play.

Sophomore co-captain Vivian Shoemaker was a Second Team All Conference pick and also qualified for the Regional Tournament.  Shoemaker completed her MSJC career with 86.3 scoring average.  Joining Shoemaker on the second team was freshman Cheyenne Ackerman who finished just behind Shoemaker on the year with a 86.6 scoring average.  Valerie Zulueta finished her Lady Eagle career with a 90.3 scoring average just missing out on all conference honors after making the second team her freshman season.
