The MSJC women's golf team fought off a tough course on Monday at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon to win Foothill Conference match #8 and move within one win of first place.
The Lady Eagles shot a 343 which was 8 shots better than Palomar College and easily outpaced Mt. San Antonio (384) and College of the Desert (426). With the 3-0 day MSJC pushed their conference record to 17-4 on the season just one win behind Palomar who is now 18-3.
Alice Hiluta, a native of England, shot the low round of the day for the Lady Eagles with an 80 as she finished just one of the low round of the day. Wan Ling (Iris) Chung played through not feeling well to shoot an 83 for MSJC which was the fourth lowest score of the day. Dayna Doidge fired an 88 for the Lady Eagles and Cheyenne Ackerman added a 92 to round out the team scoring for the day.
Valerie Zulueta had a 93, Vivian Shoemaker a 96, and Amanda Hodgin a 99 to round out scores for the Lady Eagles. MSJC will be right back in action on Wednesday at the same course as they host Foothill Conference Match #9. Wednesday's action will start at 9 am with a shot gun start.
Alice Hiluta putts on the third hole Monday at Morongo Golf Club. Hiluta led the Lady Eagles to a 3-0 day by shooting a team low 80 on the day. MSJC will be at home again on Wednesday when they host Foothill Conference match #9 at Morongo Golf Club at Tuckwet Canyon beginning at 9 am.
