MSJC Women's Golf Has Strong Showing
The MSJC women's golf team shot a 354 on Wednesday in an Orange Coast Conference neutral match in San Clemente to finish the day with a 4-3 record.
The 4-3 mark on the day was the best outing so far in conference action this year for the Lady Eagles as they finished fourth out of eight teams competing. The 354 was the team's second lowest stroke total in eight conference matches.
Two Lady Eagles tied for third place in individual scoring on Wednesday as Iris Chung and Cheyenne Ackerman both shot 81. Alice Hiluta was just two strokes behind at 83. Kaylee Brackenberry turned in her second best round of conference play with a 109. Through eight conference matches; Chung is currently 4th in individual scoring average in the OEC, just a tenth of a stroke out of third at 78.6. Hiluta is tied for 7th with a scoring average of 81.5 and Ackerman is 12th at 85, Wednesday's 81 for Ackerman was just one stroke off her best in 2013 conference action.
The Lady Eagles have one regular season match remaining before the Orang Empire Conference Tournament, and that will be played on Monday October 28th at Twin Oaks Country Club. The OEC Tournament is a two day event and will be held Monday November 4th and Wednesday November 6th at San Clemente Golf Club.
Cheyenne Ackerman shot an 81 on Wednesday to help the MSJC women's golf team to a 4-3 record in an Orange Empire Conference match in San Clemente.
