MSJC Women's Golf Moves to 5-4 in Conference

The Lady Eagles (5-4) continued to improve knocking ten strokes off their score from last Wednesday and posted a 323 (sub 81 average) for second place in Foothill Conference #3, 19 strokes behind Palomarvalerieatmsacgolf.jpg
College (9-0), 13 strokes ahead of Mt. San Antonio College (4-5), and 32 strokes ahead of College Of The Desert (0-9), on Monday, September 19, 2011.
 
Sophomore Co-Captain and International Student Ya-Ting (Tina) Yang, in humid, upper-90 degree temperatures, led Mt. San Jacinto College finishing second overall behind Palomar College Comet Sady Busby with a 1 over par 73 at El Prado Golf Course - Butterfield Stage in Chino, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College. 
 
Sophomore Co-Captain Melissa Simpson and Freshman Valerie Zulueta (Paloma Valley HS) each carded an 83, tying for eighth place in the 24 women field, over the 5,507 yard track.  Simpson's round included a near hole in one on the 107 yard par 3 11th hole resulting in a 1 inch tap in for birdie.
 
Freshman Vivian Shoemaker (San Jacinto HS) finished with an 84 (41-43) and placed 13th.  Shoemaker’s round encompassed 9 pars, 6 bogeys, and 3 double bogeys.
 
Freshman Alexis Moss (Beaver HS - Utah) returned to the 80's with an 88 and finished in 16th place.
 
Freshman Dominique Lombardi (Beaumont HS) posted a 107, placing her 23rd.  Lombardi's round included 1 par and 4 bogeys. 
 
Mt. San Jacinto College will tee it up again in Foothill Conference #4 hosted by Mt. San Antonio College, at El Prado GC - Chino Creek, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.
