Three Lady Eagle Golfers Make Regionals
Three MSJC women's golfers qualified for the Southern California Regional Tournament by virtue of their finish in the Orange Empire Conference standings.
Iris Chung, Alice Hiluta, and Cheyenne Ackerman each finished the regular season in the top 12 individually in OEC play to make the Regional Tournament which will be played Sunday and Monday November 10th and 11th at Alisal River Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
In the Orange Empire Finals this week Chung shot 79 and 84 to finish the regular season with a scoring average of 78.7 which was fourth best in the conference. Hiluta shot 83-82 in the two day conference finals to end her regular season in 10th place in the conference with an average score of 81.1. Ackerman who continued to lower her scores as the season went on shot an 83-80 in the OEC tournament which gave her a 12th place finish for the regular season with a scoring average of 82.6.
All three of these players will automatically be named to the All Orange Empire Conference First Team as a result of their finish in the top 12. As a team MSJC finished conference play with a record of 21-56 which placed them 6th in the 8 team conference.
Alice Hiluta was one of three MSJC golfers to qualify for the Southern California Regional Golf Tournament November 10th and 11th in Santa Barbara. Hiluta will be joined by teammates Iris Chung and Cheyenne Ackerman at the event.
