Women's Golf Team Tied for First After Fourth Conference Match
The MSJC women's golf team fell into a tie for first place on Wednesday as they shot a 324 at El Prado Golf Course in Chino.
The Lady Eagles went 2-1 on the day as they finished 5 shots behind Palomar (319), but well ahead of both Mt. San Antonio (345) and College of the Desert (360). MSJC and Palomar are now both 10-2 in conference play.
Wan Ling (Iris) Chung once again led the Lady Eagles as she shot a 5 over 78 on the day in a round where she had several birdie chances, but ended the day with 14 pars, 3 bogies, and 1 double bogey. Dayna Doidge scored in the 70's for the third straight outing firing a 79 while sophomore captain Vivian Shoemaker posted an 81. Cheyenne Ackerman rounded out the Lady Eagles scoring on the day with an 86, it was the first time MSJC has used Ackerman's score in conference play.
Alicia Hiluta shot 88, Valerie Zulueta a 96, and Amanda Hodgin recorded a 94 playing as an individual for MSJC. The Lady Eagles will resume conference play on Wednesday September 26th when they play Foothill Match #5 at San Luis Rey Downs Golf Course at 10 am.
