Women's Golf Team Fourth at Cactus Classic

The MSJC women's golf team carded back to back 330's over the weekend to finish fourth out of 10 teamsvalerieatmsacgolf.jpg
at the Cactus Classic in Palm Springs.

Freshman Wan Ling (Iris) Chung led the way for the Lady Eagles shooting an 80 on Friday and a 76 on Saturday to finish fifth out of 60 players in the individual portion of the tournament.  Chung's 156 was 7 strokes off the medalist's pace.  Freshman Dayna Doidge shot back to back 81's for MSJC which was the 10th best score over the weekend.

Sophomore Valerie Zulueta shot an 87 on Saturday after firing an 85 on Friday while freshman Cheyenne Ackerman followed and 89 Friday with an 86 Saturday.  The Lady Eagles finished just three strokes behind third place Palomar and 9 strokes behind second place Glendale.  Irvine Valley College won the tournament with a two day total of 641.

The Lady Eagles will kick off Foothill Conference play on Monday September 10th when they travel to Santa Rosa Country Club in Palm Desert.
