Yang Honored by Kiwanis Club

Ya-Ting (Tina) Yang of the MSJC women's golf team was honored by the Morning Kiwantinaandfontaykiwanis.jpgis Club of the Hemet Valley as the female athlete of the month for October.

Yang who was named the Foothill Conference MVP for the second straight year led the conference in scoring average at 73.8 for the season.  She also came in third at the Southern California Regional Tournament and was leading the state championships before a scoring error disqualified her from the tournament.

Lady Eagle golf coach Gene Stillman wanted to thank the Morning Kiwanis Club of the Hemet Valley for taking the time to honor Tina and for their donation to the program.  "It's great that we have these type of service clubs in the area that take the time to recognize our young people when they achieve something special," said Stillman.  "Tina has worked very hard on the golf course and in the classroom and I have every confidence that she will be successful when she moves on to the university level next year."

The Morning Kiwanis Club of the Hemet Valley donated $100 to the MSJC women's golf team in Tina's name and awarded her with a plaque.
