Lady Eagles Get Back to Winning Ways in Soccer
The MSJC women's soccer team won for the fifth time in six matches on Tuesday as they won at Grossmont 1-0.
The Lady Eagles who are making a strong play-off push improved their overall record to 11-5-1 and moved to 7-2-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play. Both defenses were strong on Tuesday especially in the first half as neither team could find the net in the first 45 minutes.
The Lady Eagles finally found a goal in the 73rd minute when Demitra Tsambasis scored off an assist from Alexandra Scata for the matches only goal. MSJC goalkeeper Melissa Lopez had two saves for the Lady Eagles as she collected her 9th shut out of the year.
The Lady Eagles who are currently just 3 points out of first place in the PCAC North Division return to action on Friday when they travel to San Diego City College. Friday's match is set to kick off at 3 pm.
Alexandra Scata had an assist on Tuesday to help the MSJC soccer team to a 1-0 win over Grossmont in a PCAC match in El Cajon. The Lady Eagles have three game left in the regular season as they make a push towards the play-offs. (photo, DeeAnn Bradley/MSJC)
