Lady Eagles Record 3rd Straight Shut Out Move to 4-0

The MSJC women's soccer team continued to play great defense on Friday as they shut out Palomar 3-0 in San Marcos.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to an early lead when Kriston Hilkey scored a goal off an assist from Ana Torres 12:09 into the match. It took MSJC just five more minutes to push the lead to 2-0 when Yuvitza Garcia took a pass from Leola Cooper to score at the 17:30 mark of the first half. The Lady Eagles would finish off the scoring in the 37th minute when Kirsten Montgomery scored a goal to make the lead 3-0. Montgomery's goal came on Cooper's second assist of the day.
In goal Taylor Wolf played 65 minutes recording 2 saves, while Kimberly Bussing played 25 minutes picking up one save as the MSJC defense shut out their opponents for the third straight match. The Lady Eagles, who are now 4-0 on the season have allowed just one goal so far in four matches.
MSJC will return home this Tuesday (Sep. 11th) when they host Southwestern College on the Menifee Campus at 4 pm. Both teams come into the match unbeaten on the season.
Kriston Hilkey scored a goal 12 minutes into MSJC's match at Palomar on Friday setting the tone for the Lady Eagles as they went on to beat the Comets 3-0. MSJC is now 4-0 on the season and will play at home Tuesday Sep. 11th at 4 pm.
