MSJC Soccer Wins Again; Starts Conference Play Friday
The MSJC women's soccer team currently ranked #14 in the state and #7 in Southern California continued their winning ways on Wednesday as they defeated Glendale 2-0 on the road.
The Lady Eagles took the lead 13 minutes into the match when Jamie Ayala scored a goal off an assist from Yuvitza Garcia. Late in the first half MSJC pushed the lead to 2-0 when Ayala had an assist to Lizeth Mendez who scored in the 37th minute.
Taylor Wolf and Kim Bussing combined in goal to shut out Glendale as Wolf recorded three saves and the Lady Eagle defense did the rest not forcing Bussing to have to make a single save in the final 15 minutes of play.
The win keeps the Lady Eagles unbeaten on the season at 6-0. MSJC will begin Foothill Conference play on Friday when they travel to Palm Desert to take on College of the Desert at 4 pm. The Lady Eagles return home next Tuesday September 25th when they host 11th ranked Chaffey at 4 pm in Menifee.
Lizeth Mendez scored a goal in the 37th minute of the first half Wednesday to help the MSJC soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Glendale keeping the Lady Eagles undefeated at 6-0 on the season.
