Miramar Gives MSJC Soccer First PCAC Loss
The MSJC women's soccer team suffered their first loss in their new conference on Friday as they lost at Mirimar 2-1.
The Lady Eagles got off to a slow start falling behind in the third minute of the match when Mirimar took a 1-0 lead. MSJC fell behind farther in the 18th minute and went into the locker room at halftime trailing 2-0. The Lady Eagles finally got on the board when Dimitra Tsambasis scored an unassisted goal in the 77th minute to cut the lead to 2-1, but that is as close as MSJC would get. Melissa Lopez went the distance in goal for the Lady Eagles allowing 2 goals, but making 13 saves in the match.
The loss was the first in conference play this year for the Lady Eagles as they fell to 6-4-1 overall and 2-1-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play. Mirimar improved to 6-1-3 for the season and 2-0-2 in the conference. MSJC will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Imperial Valley College for a 3:15 match.
