Lizeth Mendez, Brook Wooldridge, and Ana Torres all sophomore members of the Lady Eagle soccer team took part in the event that brought together many of the best players throughout the state at Consumes River College in conjunction with the CCCAA State Championships.
Mendez, Torres, and Wooldridge were all First Team All Conference selections this season as they helped the Lady Eagles to a 12-7-2 record during 2013. MSJC also qualified for the state play-offs for just the second time in school history. "We try and get our girls as much exposure as possible," said head coach Chauncey Hayes, "This opportunity is extremely valuable for our players to be seen by university coaches." Last season MSJC had 5 sophomores sign scholarships to continue their educational and playing careers and Coach Hayes thinks the trend will continue this year. "We had four sophomores who really dedicated themselves to our program and I am confident that all four will receive scholarships this year." Alexandra Scata the fourth member of the Lady Eagles sophomore class also earned First Team All Conference honors.
