Soccer Team Rolls to Fourth Straight Win
The MSJC soccer team currently ranked #9 in Southern California continued their play-off push on Tuesday with their fourth straight victory as they defeated Palomar 5-0 in Menifee.
Demitra Tsambasis got the Lady Eagles off to a good start giving them a 1-0 lead just six minutes into the match. Tsambasis would add a second goal off an assist from Calonisor Prentice and Brook Wooldrige scored in the 26th minute off an assist from Taylor Sompii as MSJC built a 3-0 halftime lead.
The Lady Eagles would go on to add two more scores in the second half on goals from Stephanie Perez and Crystal Torres. Wooldrige and Tsambasis each picked up an assist in the victory. Melissa Lopez continued her impressive play in goal as she picked up her 8th shut out of the season collecting 3 saves.
The win pushed the Lady Eagles record to 10-4-1 overall and 6-1-1 in Pacific Coast Conference play. MSJC is currently tied atop the standings in the PCAC North Division. The Lady Eagles have a big match at home on Friday when the welcome Miramar to town. Miriamar is currently 5-1-2 in the PCAC North and is the only team that has beaten MSJC in conference. Friday's game in Menifee is set for 3pm.
Taylor Sompii had an assist on Tuesday as the MSJC women's soccer team won their fourth straight match to stay atop the standings in the PCAC North Division. The Lady Eagles host Mirimar in a match in Menifee on Friday starting at 3 pm.
