Soccer Team Wins With Third Straight Shut Out
The MSJC women's soccer team won for the third straight match on Tuesday as they shut out visiting El Camino College 3-0 in Menifee.
The shut out for the Lady Eagles was their third in a row as they once again built an early lead and dominated the action for most of the 90 minute match keeping the ball in their offensive zone. Brook Wooldridge got the scoring started quickly with an unassisted goal in the 6th minute to give MSJC a 1-0 lead. Dimitra Tsambasis added a goal in the 17th minute off an assist from Lizeth Mendez and the Lady Eagles went to the halftime break with a 2-0 lead.
In the second half the Lady Eagles continued to control the ball and added their third and final goal in the 57th minute when Wooldridge scored her second of the day off another assist from Mendez. Melissa Lopez recorded her third straight shut out in goal while making 5 saves.
MSJC is now 4-2 on the season and will return to action next Tuesday September 24th when they host Pasadena City College in Menifee. Next Tuesday's game is set to kick off at 4 pm.
Sophomore defender Alexandra Scata helped the MSJC defense record their third shut out in a row as they defeated El Camino College 3-0 on Tuesday in Menifee.
